The River Alliance and its partners have proposed construction on a new section of Greenway that will run along the Saluda River at the Riverbanks Zoo and linking to the Columbia Canal.

Proposed in 1996 and now funded by the Richland County Transportation Penny Program, this project was put out for bid on November 1, 2016. Phase I will extend approximately 3 miles from I-26 to the Broad River.
